i've had A LOT of Wild Dreams in my past.

But perhaps my biggest Wild Dream flex is my drag career.

i've written a lot about it in all three of my drag books. And whenever i start talking about or explaining what a Wild Dream is, i go back and share that story. (True story, 🤣 as i actually share it again in Day 1 of the Ignite Your Wild Dreams Challenge i'm hosting this week🤣🤣.)

People in my own LGBTQIA+ community told me i couldn't do it because i was born a "real" girl.*

When i said i was going to compete in a drag queen pageant in 2011, i was told the same thing.

Over and over again.

But i believed in myself--even though i was shaking in rhinestone boots. So, i signed up. i did it scared. And i came in 1st runner up TWO TIMES.

But the real win was that i did it. i proved to myself that i could do it--and in fact SLAY at it. The real win would come in 2013 and 2014 when i won Miss Oklahoma Diva USofA and the national Miss Diva USofA pageant.

And let me tell y'all something . . . i've had/have an illustrious and long-lasting career in drag, and i am so fucking grateful for myself because i conjured my courage and took a Wild Dream risk and paid it off BIG TIME.

That one Wild Dream changed the course of my life.

Saying yes to that one Wild Dream opened doors to so many other Wild Dreams--writing, a TV host career, my first traditionally published book.
