Hola, Wild Dreamers!

How was your July?!?!?

Our card for the month was the 5 of Wands and i spent the majority of it really trying to set my life on fire (in a good, alchemical way).

So much is swirling inside our Wild Dream orbit that i decided it would be beneficial for all of us if i did an end-of-the-month roundup on all the moving parts. i'm calling it...

WILD RUMPUS ROUNDUP

If you're familiar with Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are, this is part of a quote said by Max (the main character) when he becomes king of the wild things.

"And now," cried Max, "let the wild rumpus start!"

We are all queens, kings, & royal inbetweens of our own Wildlands and Wild Things.

i'm excited (and deeply grateful) to share a piece of my wild queendom with you—mess, failures, beauty, and all!

This month's Wild Rumpus begins with . . . REJECTION.

Okay, that's a bit dramatic (it is Leo season and i'm a double Leo). But i did submit a 500-word piece to the London Writers' Salon weekly essay contest and . . . lost. i'm not gonna lie . . . i really thought i submitted a winner.

And i did.

It just wasn't the winning piece, according to the judge who read it.

And that's okay. i'm playing the long game of literary career and i know there's going to be A LOT more rejections coming my way 🤗.

i also started something called The Wonderland Collective (which i'm REALLY excited about), launched a 65% off 1:1 book writing 6-month mentorship, and updated my book and writing services on my site.

i lost a few 1:1 flients (friends + clients) this month (they rotated out) and it's been a bit of a struggle finding new ones. i'm blaming Mercury Retrograde 🤣 . . . but really i know it's because i've been SO FOCUSED on writing this stinking memoir and wrapping up two bespoke books for flients.

But then i did something FUN! On Tuesday. LOOOOOOK 👇🏽 (click on the pic to watch the short REEL!! We had SO MUCH FUN!! 🍇)

And finally, i decided to join what my wife (see pic above) calls "The TikTak." Also known to us lay people as TikTok. i did it for one reason only: my current Wild Dream is to be a Literary Star. #booktok is a big deal. So i joined as a career move.
